Help! Its Hallmark Movie Season!

I’ve had my fill of holiday made for TV movies.  The Hallmark channel can rest until next December, as far as I’m concerned.  This month has 18 days left of non-stop Christmas time romance and I can’t take it.  I know I could change the channel, there are plenty of offerings on Netflix to keep me glued to the couch.  But, something happens to my TV remote and the next thing I know, I’m watching the same holiday Hallmark movie I’ve seen 6 times already.  What’s wrong with me?

I just Googled there are 33 Hallmark Christmas movies that started to air in October!  How many more times can I watch such hits as: Marry Me at Christmas, Miss Christmas, Christmas is in the Air, The Sweetest Christmas, A Song for Christmas, Engaging Father Christmas, Enchanted Christmas, The Mistletoe Inn, My Christmas Prince, The Christmas Train……… you get the drift.  Apparently, Hallmark has 136 Christmas-holiday themed movies in their repertoire.  That’s a lot of falling in love!

I think my problem, I started watching the Countdown to Christmas before Halloween.  That’s enough Christmas, fake snow, wrong boyfriend, Christmas tree hunting, widower with a child, surprise wedding, Christmas themed ranch cheesiness for one year.  I say, “I’m through!”  But wait, there are more Hallmark movies on the way.  The real Christmas is less than two weeks away and we’re teased to keep watching for more new offerings.

Sucker that I am, I guess I will keep the remote handy.  It’s so easy to multi-task having a Hallmark movie on in the background.  I can wrap presents, talk on the phone, vacuum, make dinner, even read, and not miss a holiday movie beat.  I guess that’s the hidden agenda…we keep watching no matter what comes along!

So, to all my Hallmark Christmas Holiday TV movie fellow fans, no matter how sick we are of the predictable love connection, we are hooked. Thankfully next October will be here before we know it to watch all over again!
