Janet Haney may be an author and creative writing teacher today, but if you listen closely you’ll her her story of widowhood, losing a child, battling cancer, and facing her new chapters of life with a quiet strength. Janet tells her story of life’s heartache & grief, so that you will tell your story too. This is how we heal from our pain, by sharing the burden of it together.

If you live long enough, grief and heartache will find you. The broken heart is part of our human story. It can define us, break us, or make us stronger. That is the tale of Janet Haney’s first book, Hello Nobody: Standing at The Door Alone, What To Do When Everything Changes.

Janet’s son died at age nine. Her husband battled prostate cancer for many years and lost the fight. She fought breast cancer alone. Everything had changed and suddenly she found herself walking into an empty house. It was then that she knew it was time to tell her story.

Write Your Way Through Change: a 21-Day Devotional for Grief & Major Life Transitions is Haney’s gift to her readers after she experienced such healing from writing her own story with page and pen. Each day holds a note of encouragement and writing prompts for further exploration.

Haney brings a healing balm of camaraderie to the heartache of every reader. Her grief is not tied with a neat and tidy bow, neither is yours. Attending her workshops, lectures, and reading her books will give you someone to stand alongside who has discovered that courage comes while walking the trail set before us.
